Technical training customized to meet your needs...
Although our core business is the design and development of business systems, we can also help you with your staff
development needs.
Jim Grau,
Cumbre Systems's lead architect,
has several years of course development and delivery experience both in business and accademic settings.
While pre-prepared courses may be good for many of your needs. Customized training can offer you some benefits as well.
-
Timeliness: It doesn't make sense to send your team to training 3 months before they are to use a tool (or 6 months
later) just because that's when the course is available.
- Highly Targeted Content: Technical training should be used for meeting
highly specific subject needs. So, you might have developers who generally understand C# but need training in
Object Oriented principals and their application. Sending these people through a 4 day general C# class
isn't what they need.
-
Flexible Scheduling: With busy project schedules and production support
requirements, it may be hard to get your key people into training simply because they can't be spared
for 3 or 4 days at a time. With training done at your location, you can do 1/2 day sessions spaced out over
several days or weeks, easing the hardship of having your key people "offline" for days at a time.
This also affords students a chance to work a little with what they learn before moving onto the next step.
We can look at your staff's current skills, see what's missing, and
develop custom course-work that can be delivered at your location, on a part-time basis, often at less cost than vendor
supplied training. Some areas where a course can be quickly developed (based on current material) include:
- .Net Development (C#, collections, ADO, ASP.Net, Winforms, etc.)
- Object Oriented Techniques (OO principals, patterns, architecture)
- Database design
- Database programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
