If you are seeking full-time, on site software development, I can and often do work in that type of situation. As you know, when working with staff augmentation firms, you usually supply them with your requirements, timeframe, and pay rate requirements. They then post jobs to various job boards, collect resumes, do a little prescreening, and send the prescreened resumes to you to look over. But perhaps your needs aren’t for a fulltime, on-site, dedicated contractor. Maybe you need someone fulltime for a few months to work a project. After that, maybe you just need a few hours here and there for support and enhancements. Or maybe you need someone who can work off-site either alone or as an extension of your project team. Or maybe you need someone who can assemble a small team to do a turn-key, outsourced project for you. Those kind of flexible, non-traditional arrangements are often difficult for fulltime staffing firms to accommodate. Not for me. I have worked with the same small number of clients for the last decade – providing them with occasional support when they need it and staffing up to handle large enhancements or new projects when they come up.
